It's Raining, It's Pouring....

So the weather is pretty poor (again) on the SUNSHINE Coast (ha!). Here's a little of what we do on rainy days...

My girl is very keen to "type" on my computer - blank word document - just random typing.

Cubby houses are all the rage at our place at the moment. This one's been up in our dining room for a few days now (complete with bongos) - we did have a Barbie convention in there on the first day. All of them were dressed in their evening gowns going off to the "ball" and each were named one of the Disney Princess names (ie. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc.).

And then there's the "tent" in the play room.

A while ago, she started "collecting" envelopes and putting little treasures inside (usually pictures she has drawn or photos), and so now she has a trolley full. Today she started putting heart shaped post-it notes on the front of each one and she's deciding who we are going to "post" them to...

What's a rainy day without some popcorn?!

And drawing, colouring, drawing, colouring - non stop at the moment in this house. It's great to see her artistic flair coming out.

This is a painting she did a few days ago (when it wasn't raining). She surprised me completely by painting flowers. It was the first time she's attempted them in any form, and I think they look pretty good!

Preschool

Our daughter LOVES preschool! She's very sociable and also extremely keen to learn. Here she is enjoying some play time.

Her class has been planting seeds (flowers, herbs and veges) in their patch of garden and one of the kids decided there should be a scarecrow to keep watch over it. They did a pretty good job! She even has a bangle and necklace.

Ballerina Girl

Our 4 year old has been pestering us for the last year - "When call I do ballet?"

So today, she did a "trial lesson" which of course she LOVED! And as an added bonus, her little bestie from last year's kindy was in the same class. Next term she will start going once a week.

I guess practising dance steps with Angelina (Ballerina) will finally come in handy.

Still Here

OK so I know it's been a very long time since I blogged, but I am working on getting back into it.

Now that our beautiful daughter is a little older and has begun preschool, I have started trying to organise myself and my home (HA!). Anyhow, in doing this, I'm hoping to once again be inspired to blog, dust off the camera and begin taking photos of everyday life.
